Breathless Films build momentum with slate of five films - Inside Film
Producers Ben Ferris and Ulysses Oliver will explore the capabilities of filming on a micro-budget in the next few months as they aim to finish production on five features before the end of the year.
They are in the midst of working on Craig Boreham’s Lonesome, a story about closeted country lad Casey, who finds himself down and out in the big smoke when he meets Tib, a young gay man with whom he is able to connect, albeit with some challenges.
The film, which is being shot in Sydney, stars newcomers Josh Lavery in the role of Casey and Daniel Gabriel as Tib with Anni Finsterer (Sweet Country) and Ian Roberts (Superman Returns) in supporting roles.

Shooting has begun in Sydney on the independent feature film Lonesome – the second film from writer and director Craig Boreham following his acclaimed feature debut Teenage Kicks.
Lonesome stars new-comers Josh Lavery in the role of Casey and Daniel Gabriel as Tib with Anni Finsterer (Sweet Country) and Ian Roberts (Superman Returns) in supporting roles.
“It’s exciting to be telling this story with such a brilliant cast,” says Boreham. “It’s a very queer tale and a very specific storyworld that we are building and our actors are throwing themselves into it with the kind of daring energy that the story deserves.”

The filmmaker follows up his impressive debut Teenage Kicks.
Described as ‘unflinching’, Lonesome follows Casey (Josh Lavery), a country boy running away to the big city and diving deep into hook-up apps and anonymous sex. He soon meets Tib (Daniel Gabriel), who shares Casey’s desire for meaningless sex to mask his pain. Joining newcomers Lavery and Gabriel in the cast are Anni Finsterer and Ian Roberts in supporting roles.
